Schools invest in a class set of instruments in the first year with CAPTIVATE providing the tutors and teaching resources for the delivery of the program. The program is taught in class streams and ideally is begun in Year 3 however, it can start in either Year 3, 4 or 5 (not Year 6). Individual and small group lessons outside of the classroom program are also available on a modest user pays basis.

CAPTIVATE provides professional tutors to build the skills base of generalist classroom teachers and/or music specialists within the school. This is subsidised in the first year. Support, follow-up and professional development is provided continually throughout the delivery of the program.
